eggs, and healthy birds advice please

Hi guys, my girls are 26 weeks old on sunday and no eggs yet. Two look ready so it might not be long now. I was wondering if im doing anything wrong, such as too many treats or mixed corn. They are all eating the layers pellets the two nearing laying are eating more. But there is no reason for them to be unhappy or anything. They are all clean including the cube and only get treats about 3 times a week. Is that too much?

Im not impatient but was getting concerned as to whether I should cut stuff out or do something else. I prop need to just not worry about it and be 8)

Birds can come into lay from 17 weeks onwards, there is no hard & fast rule, they are individuals & mature a different rates. They dont read the books that say they have to lay at 20 weeks!!

Too may treats will cause your birds to become fat & lazy thus resulting in no eggs & shortening their lifespans. Once or twice a week is ample.

This time of year it taks longer for birds to mature, & it is quite possible that some may not come into lay until next year.

Are they showing signs of sexual maturity? Reddening? Squatting? How many fingers can you get between the bone under the vent?

Patience is the key :D
